what happens to your crypto when you die?

you have a seed phrase somewhere. drawer, safe, whatever. you get hit by a bus tomorrow. your wife gets nothing. not because someone stole it. because nobody knows how to access it.

seed phrases aren't made for humans. they're made for computers. 12 random words you've gotta keep safe forever and somehow pass to your family. it's a terrible system and everyone's just pretending it's fine.

i built this because it was a personal problem. then i asked around and realized everyone has this problem. nobody has a real solution.

how people actually store seeds

i asked people how they store their seed phrases. the answers were terrifying:

i researched every competitor. spent weeks. here's what exists:

legal wills - lawyers don't understand crypto. probate takes months
multisig wallets - too complex. your family won't understand
daos - gas fees, governance tokens, weird blockchain stuff
existing startups - abandoned, closed source, or want your actual keys
chain-specific - only work for one chain. you probably have btc AND eth

nothing does what deadhand does. simple, trustless, any bip-39 seed, fully open source.

we get hacked: we only have shard c. useless alone

never. the switch is autonomous. we have zero manual overrides. if you lose a shard, you must wait for the 90-day trigger. no exceptions. this ensures nobody can social-engineer your vault.

nah. whether you've got $10 or $10b in your wallet, same price. i don't charge more just because you got rich. pay once. no subscriptions. i hate saas as much as you do.

built this because i couldn't find anything else that works. real person, real emails, not some anon dev who might disappear.
