The core cryptography is 100% trustless. All sensitive key-splitting happens in your local environment, never touching our servers. We only hold Shard C, which is useless without Shard A or B.
The protocol is built on open standards (BIP-39 and SSS). If our servers ever went
offline, you could use any standard offline utility like ssss-split to
combine your shards. Your legacy is protected by math, not a company.
Multisig requires your beneficiaries to maintain active hardware wallets and understand operational security *before* you die. Deadhand requires nothing from them until it's time to recover. It's infinitely simpler for non-technical family members.
