your crypto shouldn't die with you
what happens to your crypto when you die?
you have a seed phrase somewhere. drawer, safe, whatever. you get hit by a bus tomorrow. your wife gets nothing. not because someone stole it. because nobody knows how to access it.
seed phrases aren't made for humans. they're made for computers. 12 random words you've gotta keep safe forever and somehow pass to your family. it's a terrible system and everyone's just pretending it's fine.
i built this because it was a personal problem. then i asked around and realized everyone has this problem. nobody has a real solution.
i asked people how they store their seed phrases. the answers were terrifying:
> plain text note in google drive
> get 12 to 24 of your closest friends and family members, give them each a word to hold onto and remember in which order you gave out the words
> screenshot on my phone. it syncs to icloud but whatever
> metal seed plates... somewhere. i don't remember where i put it lol
> i wrote it backwards for security
> lmao
roast my security (ai)
tell the bot how you're currently storing your seed. be honest. it won't blink.
this is how billions of dollars get lost. not hacks. not scams. just people being human.
i'm here to fix that.
claim your free early-bird vaultdeadhand splits your seed into 3 pieces using shamirs secret sharing.
any 2 shards = full recovery. 1 shard alone = nothing. mathematically proven.
while you're alive: recover anytime with a + b
if you die: we email you every 30 days. stop responding, shard c goes to your beneficiary. they combine b + c, recover your seed
that's it. dead man's switch for crypto.
i researched every competitor. spent weeks. here's what exists:
nothing does what deadhand does. simple, trustless, any bip-39 seed, fully open source.
code is open source. go read it and ask ai.
no lock-in: we use standard BIP-39 and Shamir Secret Sharing. if deadhand disappears tomorrow, you can
recover your keys using ssss-split on linux or any other standard offline tool. the emergency
exit is always open.
for the "trust nobody" crowd. zero dependencies. runs offline. single files.
5 minutes to setup.
setup your vault$0 (early bird batch)
limited to the first 50 users. no credit card required.
batch 2: $99 lifetime
final price: $399 lifetime
why is this free?
trust is the hardest thing to build in crypto. we're in public beta. we need your feedback and your hair-on-fire problems. once we've proven the system with the first 50 vaults, we'll move to paid tiers. early bird users get lifetime access for free, forever.
self-host: always free. clone the repo and run your own instance.
claim your free vaultcan you steal my crypto?
no. we only have shard c. need 2 of 3
what if i lose my seed?
combine a + b. that's the whole point
what if beneficiary tries to steal?
they only have shard b. useless. shard c releases after 90 days
of YOUR inactivity (we check in every 30 days)
which chains?
any bip-39 seed. btc eth sol whatever
what if you disappear?
we use standard BIP-39 and Shamir Secret Sharing. you can use standard tools
like ssss-split on linux to recover your keys without us. no lock-in.
can the team "break" my switch if i lose shard a?
never. the switch is autonomous. we have
zero manual overrides. if you lose a shard, you must wait for the 90-day trigger. no exceptions. this
ensures nobody can social-engineer your vault.
success tax? monthly bills?
nah. whether you've got $10 or $10b in your wallet, same price. i don't
charge
more just because you got rich. pay once. no subscriptions. i hate saas as much as you do.
i'm max.
built this because i couldn't find anything else that works. real person, real emails, not some anon dev who might disappear.
the chewy approach: i send handwritten thank-you cards to early users. you get holiday cards. if you need help, you get a real human on a call, not a chatbot. this is a relationship, not a transaction.
you're gonna die someday. when that happens, do you want your crypto to disappear? or do you want your family to inherit it?
protect your family
